This privacy policy describes how RoverAIM ("the App") handles your information. RoverAIM is a companion app for portable and rover amateur radio operators, available on iOS and Android. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
The App requests access to your device's location for the following purposes:
Important: Location data is processed locally on your device. No location data is sent to external servers operated by the developer.
The App may use your device's compass and motion sensors to assist with antenna aiming. This sensor data is processed locally and is not stored or transmitted.
RoverAIM does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers operated by the developer. The app does not include any analytics, tracking, or advertising frameworks.
The app stores your settings (callsign, preferences, saved targets) locally on your device. Contact logs (QSOs) are stored locally and are only exported when you explicitly choose to do so (e.g., ADIF export).
The App may connect to publicly available amateur radio services (such as callsign lookup databases) to retrieve station information. These connections are initiated only by your explicit actions. No personal data beyond the queried callsign is transmitted in these requests.
This app is not directed at children under 13. Use of amateur radio requires an FCC license or equivalent authorization.
